Eyal Amir -- Short Biographical Information
Eyal Amir is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer
Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since
January 2004. Prior to this he was a postdoctoral researcher with
Stuart Russell at the computer science division at UC Berkeley
(2001-2003). He received the Arthur L. Samuel award for best
Ph.D. thesis (1995-2001) at the Computer science department at
Stanford University, working with John McCarthy. He received B.Sc. and
M.Sc. degrees in mathematics and computer science from Bar-Ilan
University, Israel in 1992 and 1994, respectively. His research
includes reasoning and decision making with logical and probabilistic
knowledge, intelligent-agent architectures, cognitive robotics, and
virtual worlds.
